Tankless Water Heater Installation in the Lakes Region

We install tankless water heaters for homes in Laconia and across the Lakes Region. The heater is the easy part to choose. The work is making it deliver in January and fit the house it is going into.

What an estimate looks at

  • Your peak hot-water use. Which fixtures and appliances realistically run together at the busiest time of day.
  • Your winter temperature rise. How much the heater has to warm the coldest incoming water, and what the chosen model delivers at that rise, from the manufacturer's own figures. See sizing.
  • Fuel and gas supply. Natural gas or propane, and whether the gas line and meter or regulator can supply the heater at full output.
  • Venting. Where and how the heater vents to the outdoors, to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Condensate. Where a condensing unit's acidic condensate will drain, and how that drain stays clear of ice.
  • Power. An outlet or circuit for controls, fans and ignition, and what happens during an outage.
  • Location. Indoors or out, freeze exposure, clearances, and distance to the main hot-water fixtures.
  • Permits. Gas and plumbing permits for the town the home is in.

Replacing a tank with tankless

This is the most common project. The old tank's venting usually can't be reused, the gas line often needs to be checked or upsized, and a condensing unit needs a drain for its condensate. None of that is unusual, but it is why a tankless replacement is a bigger job than swapping one tank for another. What changes the cost.

When we'd suggest something else

If your household uses little hot water, has no gas, or loses power for long stretches in winter, a storage tank or a heat-pump water heater may serve you better. We'll say so. Compare the options.
